Preps and Reception: Midtown Hotel
Church: Lapuz Church Iloilo
Photographer: RM Photomart

Remember our previous post, Yam and Joe’s Boracay wedding..well our “Frank” Adventure did not stop there..in fact it was only the beginning…We crossed the big waves waters of Bora (finally after the coast guards blocked the passes - Bora -Caticlan) and drove the dangerous roads; bad weather,no phone signal, no electricity, wrong turns, blocked roads (big trees, electric posts, damaged bridges, muddy roads and rocks all over the place) and dead ends, just to get home and shoot another wedding. On our way trying to get home to Iloilo City we saw ruined houses and establishments, it was a very tearful experience to see, yet also an eye opener for us since we realized that even though we went through all that and felt like we were on the road forever,we were blessed for we were able to make it to Iloilo City alive, our families were ok and most of all we made it to the wedding. Yes! we made it to Iloilo City and we made it to Doc Aura and Mars’ wedding just in time. No “Frank” typhoon could stop us. So when we got to the hotel for the preps, we wasted no time. We shot the wedding like it was our first and last wedding..pure heartfelt. Fresh from our road trip, with no sleep, with no electricity (church) and uncharged handy cams(capturing)..amazingly we made it on time! It was another picture perfect video. And now we are happy to share this SDE vid we made just for them! Cheers! :)

Just a little touching background about the wedding, Doc Aura chose Lapuz church since she grew up in that place. And could you catch some familiar faces? Yes, they’re Albert and Suzyete (Albert is the brother of Doc Aura) ,one of our last year’s October couple.

Thanks To Doc Aura and Mars for trusting us and for believing that we can deliver your onsite vid. We are so grateful that we were able to experience this once in a life time adventure and made it on time. Also we would like to take this opportunity to give back all the glory and praises to the Lord our God for guiding us and helping us make it through. This is something we will never exchange for anything else..truly unforgettable! :)

Prenup: June 20,2008
Wedding Day:June 21, 2008
Coordinator: Amanda Tirol
Preps and Reception: Discovery Shores Boracay
Photographer: Mangored

Warning: This may be a long write up post but we are just so excited to share our experience with you. So we are hoping that you will have the patience to finish reading the whole thing up. But in case you could not, you could skip everything up and just enjoy the Charlie’s angels/Oceans Eleven/Rockin Same Day Edit Video :-P

Clear skies, sun shining bright, kids making sand castles, girls in skimpy swimsuits..these are only few of the things we can think of when we say Boracay, but what we experienced last Saturday was so far from it and do we have a story to tell. When we came to Boracay from a photo shoot in Antique(for their website - Pinnacle Suites by Mayad Jose), we had no idea or clue that a storm was about to hit the beautiful white sand beach. First day in Bora the sun was still shining brightly, we had a great prenup shoot with Max and Sara, but that’s another story.
Next day we had a prenup shoot with our couple in Bora, Yam and Joe. Even though Boracay was declared in signal 1 we still continued to shoot since there were times that the sun was still visible. Everybody was in their best mood to shoot. They actually were the ones who conceptualized the whole prenup vid. They were so game and funny and lovable as well. You will agree later as you view their vid. Then came the wedding day, we were informed that Boracay was in signal number 3. “Frank” must be really in its bad mood and ready to mess up the whole wedding since the rain never stopped and the wind was blowing so hard but of course we, the Mayad team won’t allow it. So before we left “Elizalde” resort (where we stayed-private resort in station 1), we wrapped everything that we can wrap with plastics as we headed off to Discovery shores to shoot the preps as if we were about to attack something. Thinking that we will meet up with very devastated bride and family, we were wrong. The family friends and even the bride were all in a cheerful mode. The bride even looked at the window and said “its so good to have a pictorial in the storm”. We were so touched by the family as the dad was praying to Yam and everybody was busy doing their thing singing happily as if like everything just fell into its rightful place despite of lots and lots of mishaps. The ceremony went on smoothly, no wind blowing in the hair or dog walking in the altar could stop the two from tying the knot. And after the ceremony? What else? The usual pictorial. But usual is exactly the opposite word to use for what happened during the said pictorial. The very daring Randall of Mangored told Fiel that they should shoot the couple in the middle of the storm in the beach of Bora. So even though Fiel was hesitant at first (thinking”are you serious?” ),he still went on as we covered the cam with plastic and tapped it around. Surprisingly they truly did shot the pictorial in the middle of the storm. The couple were so game trashing the dress even before the reception could take place..they even had a blast doing it so. As for the reception, it was perfect even though everybody was soaking wet. I even caught one of the staff of Disovery Shores praying as she was looking on the wind breakers of the hotel getting destroyed by the storm. The result? The wedding was a HIT! Everbody had the time of their life! and the SDE was a BLOCKBUSTER! They even requested for the SDE vid to be played three times. They just stopped requesting for it when the projector finally gave up. It was a memorable day and we will never ever forget it! Glad we had this once in a life time opportunity to shoot this rockin wedding.

Never before have we ever met a bunch of super optimistic people. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from this wedding is that “everything will still work out”. We would like to thank Yam, Joe, their family and all the guests for trusting us and letting us experience this extraordinary wedding and also for being so game the whole time especially to Yam’s dad (the video and concept was partly his idea). You guys are awesome! Special thanks to Krissy for helping us out in directing the prenup vid. Thank you to Mangored especially to Randall for influencing Fiel to shoot the pictorial despite of the storm. Also thank you to the people in charge of “Elizalde” for your warm accommodations. And last to Amanda Tirol, thank you for everything and of course congratulations for a very successful wedding. Next stop our adventure after the Bora wedding! As for now enjoy watching the SDE vid of Yam and Joe..Cheers! :)

For months we have constantly been challenging ourselves to reinvent our style, create a new image, squeeze our minds for creative juices and face unbounded territories just to produce and give our couples what they deserve..nothing but the best! We know how important the wedding day is for the couple especially for the bride, that is why this mid year, we are introducing a new approach. Unveiling our new concept from our bridal fair booth, to cd samplers, to shirts, to shoes, to newspaper ads and now to our new blog design..”What’s your heart story?”

it’s not every day you get to tie the knot
a smile will never be the same smile nor the kiss will ever be the same kiss
every second counts every tear is meaningful and every heartbeat tells a story
with Mayadstudios we will meticulously capture your precious moments
and creatively unveil the best story yet to be told
your heart story

Let every moment breathe
Let every minute be remembered timelessly
Let it be MAYAD

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who chipped in all their ideas and poured their hearts out in creating this new image of Mayad. To our trainees, Ralph,King and Mikeel, your “heart story” concept, ideas and design was truly outstanding and we are proud that you have been a part of our family, the Mayad Family. To Kristopher Panes, thank you for the amazing new design of our blog site, it was surely a big hit. Also big thanks to everyone who helped making the 9 days bridal fair (Robinson Wedding Rituals) a success. By the way, for those who got a copy of Panay News from May 31- June 7, hope you saw our latest center spread full colored Ad (thank you to Mangored for the two photos we used for the ad).

As for Mayad, we will continue to share the greatest stories yet to be told…your HEARTSTORY.

Preps and Reception: Sarabia Manor Hotel

Church: Molo Iloilo

Photographer: Fajardo

Lately we have received a lot of requests from couples who wanted their onsite fun and fast, so the couple’s request yesterday was a breather for us since they wanted cinematic yet romantic. And we certainly don’t want to disappoint Jonathan and Donna. So for them we poured our hearts out in making this SDE special and unique. Also for this vid we had one of the most emotional grooms. Watch this vid and you will realize what makes this onsite different from the ones we did so far. And be sure to watch out for the teardrop moment of the groom at about 2:18 of the clip! Cheers!

To Jonathan and Donna, it was a pleasure capturing your moments and thank you for trusting us to be part of your special day. Also thanks to Michael Wong of StillMotion from Canada and Ian Salim of Weddingclip from Indonesia for suggesting and inspiring us to do something different with regards to our flow and shots to use and we are quite happy and proud that we were able to execute it well and turned out pretty good. :)
