Before you trade your movie dates for brainstorming sessions with your lovey dovey, we would like to add that only couples with wedding dates not earlier than September 2012 are eligible to join our little contest. All entries must be submitted on or before February 11, 2012.

The whole meaning of this season can easily be lost amidst the holiday rush, the parties and the presents… Thankfully, here in Mayad, we were given lots of chances to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Far from the lavish festivities, the dazzling lights, the loud chorus of cheers and well-wishes, Christmas is still the same. It’s still a time for children and for somehow being a little child all over again. It’s still a time for giving and receiving the most precious gift of all… heaven gifted us with a Saviour! So lift up your voice and sing out His praise, born is the King, rejoice in the day…yes, everyone, it’s Christmas, and its merry indeed!

We have been in this business for about 5 years and yet we still get surprised and honored every time we receive a compliment or a praise both from our clients and from our fellow suppliers/ vendors or any random person saying that we have touched their lives. And so this post is dedicated to the two special love letters we received that stood out the most.
This letter was given to Metro Weddings as they express their desire to have us Mayad shoot their wedding day
This is the letter we sent to MetroWeddings:
My fiancé and I first met in an interschool math contest back when we were in 7th grade. We met again junior high in a Computer Club Interaction. 14 years after, we found each other again in Toytown and been together ever since. All these moments would have been more special if we had photos and videos that would have captured every moment that we crossed paths. To our dismay, we couldn’t find a single memento of those times. With this, we cannot afford to miss the best moment of our life… our wedding day! We are hoping to win Mayad’s Studio’s video coverage to capture every second of the happiest day of our life together. This time we our going to finally have a keepsake of what started as a childhood crush to our dream come true!

It has been one amazing journey, not only for the 56 participants of our workshop, but for us as well. Being away from our comfort zone and trying to invade Singapore..it was surely one workshop we will never ever forget. Eight groups were formed, each with people of different capabilities and outlooks, all with the same passion for videography. So we let them loose to create a wonderful masterpiece that they can surely be proud of. May we add that a lot of sweat and tears came with the making of these videos and we are truly so proud of them. From Splash to Blast. And most truly we all had a blast during our recently concluded Mayad Academy Singapore. It was beyond our wildest dreams to have 56 of the most talented and creative videographers all in our room having the same goal.. and that is to learn and of course have fun. We had participants all over the world like Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan,Macau, Hongkong, Guam,Australia,China and Dubai.
To top it off, some were first timers in Singapore; and others were repeaters who’ve been in our past three workshops, wasn’t that something?
We were fully packed bursting with eagerness and thirsty for more knowledge given by our respectable speakers namely Alvin Paver and Raphael Jamil Pranga of Mayad Studios, Sean Seah of Firewerks Films, Fauzee Nasir of Manggis and Oly Ruiz of Metrophoto. And so, it is with much love that we present to you this short highlight video we made for them that was shown during the graduation dinner on the last day.
It was a humbling and worthwhile experience. We also give our thanks to our awesome sponsors; Triple Scoop, Cathay Photo, and Canon who gave their support in making this event possible; and to The Wedding Cinematographers Guild of Singapore, you guys made this event a smashing success! We can say so far this is the biggest and one of the best workshop up to date! We can’t wait for next year!
For the past 4 years, we from the Mayad Studios team have been so blessed with everything that we have accomplished so far, and none of these were made possible without all the people who have worked hard, and of course to everyone who entrusted to us their most special day. We humbly salute all of you for helping us get to where we are today. And so we feel that it is our responsibility to keep our flame of passion for our work to create the most awesome ideas and to be able to serve you better. With this, there are some stuffs that needs to change. And one change will be the rates of the packages that we offer. For our Philippine rates, in order to keep up with the global challenge of perfection and growing standards in terms of quality of work, we have decided to eliminate our standard definition package. High definition will be the new standard. These new terms will take effect in two weeks’ time, so this will be a heads up for everyone who wants to avail of our standard definition.
